Sometimes you need to get away—to run an errand, go to a doctor’s appointment, or attend the school play. Perhaps you want an extra set of adult hands along for a field trip. Maybe you just want to take a break for a couple hours without leaving the house. For these times, a credentialed and experienced Satellite staff member will come to your home to provide quality child care. Respite is $15.00 per hour. Accredited providers receive 12 hours of free respite per calendar year and associate providers receive 6 hours. To schedule, contact the Satellite office at 608-270-3438 or satellitefcc@dcpcinc.org.
Have the Respite Care Information Sheet completed when the respite provider arrives (you can type directly into this Word file and save it to update for future visits).
Print the Staff Orientation Checklist to go over with the Satellite respite provider at the first visit, and keep it on file to meet licensing requirements.
See the documentation checklist [pdf] of the documentation that the provider and Satellite respite staff each need to have.
If you are licensed, you must request an exception for respite care and post it.
Refer a new provider to Satellite, and when they become a member you'll get two free hours of respite care! Contact the Satellite office at 608-270-3438 or satellitefcc@dcpcinc.org or your consultant to find out more.
Let us know if you have not received your copy of the WMELS book. If you need additional copies they can be downloaded or ordered through Collaborating Partners.
